Independent Storage Resource Estimates to SRMS
With many high CO2 content fields in the APAC region, companies are looking to capture and locally store their direct emissions associated with their hydrocarbon production. Furthermore, countries like Japan, Australia and South Korea have made climate goals under the Paris agreement which require them to accelerate deployment of CCS.
Client Need:
Our client wished to have a third party audit their CCS portfolio in the APAC region.
Description of services provided by ERCE staff:
ERCE’s geoscientists and reservoir engineers reviewed the workflows carried out by our client to determine the storage resource associated with multiple carbon storage sites. We gave recommendations in our report on how our client could make improvements, including how to align their approach to their portfolio estimations.
During the project, we attended a number of meetings with our client where they explained background to their fields, and also where we discussed our findings and answered ad hoc questions to ensure transparency.
Outcome:
Our report was well received.
