ERCE to Attend CCS4G Symposium 2024: Super-Critical Implementation

ERCE is excited to participate in the CCS4G Symposium 2024 – “Super-Critical Implementation: A Symposium on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) for Geoscientists,” taking place soon. Our team, represented by Ellen Mitchell, Managing Consultant, and Mimi Bleakley, Graduate Geoscientist, will be on hand to engage with the latest developments in this rapidly evolving field.

The global push towards net zero is accelerating, and with it, the role of carbon capture and storage (CCS) is moving from theory to practice. In 2023 alone, dozens of new geological storage licenses were issued, and many projects are now on the brink of final investment decisions (FID). This surge presents a unique opportunity for geoscientists to apply their skills to one of the most pressing challenges of our generation.

The CCS4G Symposium will delve into the geo-technical challenges and opportunities that come with geological CO2 storage. Attendees will gain insights into how the familiar concepts of wells, reservoirs, and cap-rocks intersect with the twin goals of cost reduction and long-term public safety in CCS projects.

This one-day event, following the success of previous years, is designed to equip geoscientists with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in this burgeoning field. The symposium offers opportunities for learning, exploring emerging technologies, networking, and collaboration. Participants will also have the chance to discuss supply chain issues, employment trends, public perceptions, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) aspects of CCS.

ERCE has been at the forefront of the CCS sector for over a decade, providing Independent Assurance and Technical and Commercial Studies. Our recent projects include independent assurance on several carbon storage sites approaching FID, positioning us as leaders in this critical area.

We invite all attendees to connect with Ellen and Mimi during the symposium to discuss how ERCE’s CCS expertise can support your projects. This event promises to be an invaluable opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and build partnerships that will help shape the future of the global CCUS landscape.
