Independent Audit of a Carbon Storage Project to SRMS
In 2022 the SPE Storage Resource Management System (SRMS) application guidelines were released. The framework is an opportunity for carbon storage operators to communicate the state of their project to stakeholders.
Client Need:
A carbon storage license holder wanted to commission an independent, third-party evaluation of their project. ERCE were engaged to conduct external evaluation to the SRMS standard.
Description of services provided by ERCE staff:
ERCE’s multidisciplinary team conducted an independent verification of the project and assigned a subclassification of Contingent Resource to the storable quantities at a P90 – P50 – P10 level of confidence. Our evaluation included an assessment of the pore volume, connected reservoir, production history, reservoir simulation modelling, injectivity, geological and legacy well containment, geomechanics, and the integration of the surface evaluation with that of the facilities and development plan.
Outcome:
We completed and delivered the first public CPR to SMRS in Europe.
