Prepare a high-level concept for capture and storage of CO2 from the proposed FPSO
ERCE previously carried out work for the client to help them understand the emissions of a proposed FPSO and compared them to those of the old decommissioned FPSO. We then evaluated the potential emissions reduction by transitioning to wind power generation for the new FPSO. The client is now interested in building on this work by including a carbon capture and storage (CCS) option.
Client Need:
The client required a high-level concept for CO2 capture and storage from the FPSO as an alternate to electrification.
Description of services provided by ERCE staff:
ERC Evolution collaborated with the client and Carbon Circle to prepare a high-level concept for capture and storage of CO2 from the proposed FPSO. This was presented as an alternative emissions reduction option for the proposed FPSO. The report was prepared taking into consideration the requirements set out by the NSTA for CO2 storage licence applications in the UK North Sea.
Outcome:
Report submitted for consideration.
