Completing an Independent Risk Assessment.
Understanding technical risks and developing an appropriate Measuring, Monitoring and Verification (MMV) plan is a critical part of any CCS development. The UK NSTA has defined checks in their storage license application, to ensure applicants are developing a robust risk system.
Need:
A storage license operator required an independent 3rd party assessment of their subsurface Risk Management system.
Project:
ERCE were engaged to conduct the external audit. This included a review of the risk system, and the specific risks identified. We completed an independent report on our findings and discussed our findings with the NSTA at a workshop.
Outcome:
Our findings have been incorporated into the future activities our client as they progress through the regulatory process.
