Shale Gas Evaluation
Technical Study
UK
Onshore United Kingdom, operator required a shale gas reserve estimation for several blocks within their recently acquired acreage.
Problem:
Client had small in-house technical team and required geological mapping and petrophysical analysis in order to adequately estimate the gas in place within the undeveloped Carboniferous geology.
Solution:
ERCE’s in-house geoscientists carried out a full geological mapping and petrophysical analysis of available 2D/3D seismic and vintage wellbore wireline.
Many vintage maps and documents required scanning and digitising to enable a detailed picture of shale presence to be adequately complied in the acreage.
Additionally incorporating North American analogues, a GIS database and 3D model were constructed over the acreage which could be used for reserves estimation and future well planning.
Benefit
ERCE has extensive experience in both technical studies and Reserves & Resource auditing for unconventional resources. We draw upon our local and regional understanding as well as in house intellectual property to integrate varied datasets, adding value to your portfolio and build models and GIS datasets that can be used for varied purposes.
