Screening Study of the subsurface and facilities
Our client engaged us to conduct a third-party study that covers the feasibility study CCUS as part of its corporate strategy to support the Sustainability Development Agenda by reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions in its operating area.
Client Need:
The client was seeking consulting services on CCUS within its operated assets in the Malaysia-Thailand. The client was pursuing CCUS to reduce its GHG emissions and to align its own and stakeholders’ corporate policies.
Description of services provided by ERCE staff:
ERCE conducted site screening and selection for CCUS. Subsurface EOR and carbon storage potential were screened from all available oil reservoirs, depleted gas zones and regional saline aquifer within our client’s acreage. We evaluated existing infrastructure and potential for re use. We generated notional development plans and a cost analysis. We undertook economic analysis based on various treatments of CO2 fiscal terms at different carbon pricing.
Outcome:
Report delivered on ranked sites for CO2 storage. Our client also allowed ERCE to present our results at the SEAPEX conference in London in June 2024.
